As a former monastary, the Aula Carolina has a long and eventful history. The first mention of Aula Carolina is in the 13th century. The foundation stone of today's building was laid on 11th May 1663. Since 1980, Aula Carolina has served as the auditorium of Kaiser-Karl Gymnasium and can be used for a variety of events, outwith the school day.
